Flash Floods: Nepal Tourism Authorities Publish List of 537 Missing Foreigners, Including 51 Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 — Tourism authorities in Nepal have published an official list containing the names of 537 foreign nationals from more than 30 countries including 51 Malaysians who remain missing following severe flash floods in the Rasuwa district.

The list was published on Thursday evening on the website of the Department of Tourism under Nepal’s Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation under the headline “Tourist List (Out of Contact) in Bhotekoshi Flood”. The record provides details on individuals who remain unaccounted for, including their names and the respective travel agencies that organized their trips.

According to the published details, 51 Malaysian citizens handled by tour agencies Leaf Holiday, Fishtail, Dream Tibet Travel and Tour, and Kailash Journeys remain untraceable following the disaster:

The official data indicates that India recorded the highest number of missing foreign nationals at 178, followed by the United States with 65 citizens and Ukraine with 53.
