PUTRAJAYA, Aug 31 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and members of the Cabinet joined thousands of Malaysians at Dataran Putrajaya today to embrace the nation’s 69th National Day celebration under the theme “Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, arrived at the royal stage at 7:53 am accompanied by his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, amidst the playing of the Hormat Perdana national salute. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived earlier at 7:45 am.
The grand national gathering was also attended by Communications Minister and HKHM 2026 Main Committee Chairman Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, alongside deputy ministers, foreign delegates, and senior government dignitaries.
The 69th National Day showcase featured a massive procession of 10,819 parade participants across 76 contingents and 22 marching bands. Highlighted among the spectacle were 11 decorated float vehicles, 328 land, sea, and air defense assets, 112 working animals, and 22 electric vehicles, creating a comprehensive display of national unity and modernization.
