Prime Minister Anwar’s Deepavali Financial Assistance Brings Festivity Relief To 1,000 Indera Mahkota Residents

KUANTAN, 3 Nov – Deepavali celebrations brought timely financial relief to 1,000 residents across the Indera Mahkota parliamentary constituency in Kuantan, Pahang, following cash voucher contributions distributed on behalf of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The festive assistance was officially handed over by the Prime Minister’s Political Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, during the Indera Mahkota parliamentary constituency’s Cahaya Deepavali program on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Under the initiative, recipients received RM200 shopping vouchers designed to assist eKasih register beneficiaries, low-income B40 households, and local students with essential preparations ahead of the upcoming festival.

Speaking at the event, Ahmad Farhan underscored that the core values of Deepavali—compassion, sincerity, and mutual respect—should continue driving targeted community outreach and economic empowerment.

“If a family is facing financial difficulties, assistance and opportunities must be made available to them. If young people are concerned about their education or employment prospects, we must pave the way for them to study, work and build their lives,” Ahmad Farhan noted. “The spirit of Deepavali should inspire us to embrace hope and respect rather than hatred and prejudice. May the light of this festival illuminate the lives of our families and communities while strengthening our resolve to help and respect one another.”

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the timely distribution. Recipient C. Rimalavathy, 42, a mother of two, highlighted that the RM200 voucher complemented her existing Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) monthly welfare allocation, allowing her to purchase new festive clothing for her daughters, aged 16 and eight.
