KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has delivered a subtle yet poignant message calling for political solidarity and restraint amidst the ongoing campaign heat of the Negeri Sembilan state election, publishing a traditional four-line unity pantun emphasizing consensus and enduring friendship.

In a personal post published on his official Facebook page today, the Prime Minister shared a verse underscoring the necessity of preserving political goodwill despite divergent electoral approaches:

“Burung merbah terbang sekawan,

Guruh berdentum membelah awan,

Berbeza langkah, jangan putus kawan,

Selagi muafakat, kita sehaluan.”

(A flock of straw-headed bulbuls fly together / Thunder rumbles, splitting the clouds / Though our steps may differ, let us not break friendship / As long as there is consensus, we share the same path.)

Adding further resonance to the conciliatory message, the social media upload was set to the backdrop of the iconic 1980s pop hit Madu dan Racun (Honey and Poison).

Accompanying the post were official photographs capturing candid moments from a federal Cabinet session.
