Mastermind Posing As Selangor Raja Muda Aide Arrested Over RM1.42 Million Scam

Raja Muda Selangor aide scam police arrest Shazeli Kahar

SHAH ALAM, Oct 28 – Selangor police have apprehended a 40-year-old self-employed man suspected of masterminding a nationwide vehicle and property sale scam involving total reported losses of RM1.42 million.

The suspect allegedly misused photographs of the Raja Muda of Selangor and falsely posed as an aide-de-camp to the prince to trick victims into purchasing vehicles and real estate properties across various categories.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed during a press conference at the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters in Shah Alam on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, that the suspect was arrested at a residential property in Johor Bahru around 5:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

Police also detained two siblings—a 26-year-old woman in Shah Alam and her 27-year-old brother in Johor Bahru—suspected of harboring the primary suspect after he went missing on October 13, 2026.

Investigators verified that the main suspect holds no official appointment, affiliation, or administrative standing within any royal household or the Selangor royal institution.

The syndicate had been operational since 2023, accumulating 26 police reports nationwide. In Selangor alone, 15 reports were lodged involving losses totaling RM960,020, with additional victims recorded in Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, and Perlis.

All three suspects are undergoing remand applications under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.
