KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 – The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an adverse weather advisory forecasting thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds across select districts in five states on Thursday morning. The warning remains in effect until 1:00 pm.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the meteorological authority announced that the states affected by the warning are Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Selangor, and Johor.
According to MetMalaysia, specific areas expected to experience severe weather in Kedah include Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, and Kota Setar. Meanwhile, affected coastal and inland districts in Perak comprise Kerian, Larut Matang and Selama, Manjung, and Bagan Datuk.
The advisory also extends to central and southern regions of Peninsular Malaysia. In Selangor, the thunderstorm warning covers the districts of Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, and Klang, while in Johor, the designated areas include Pontian, Kulai, Johor Bahru, and Kota Tinggi.
