PUTRAJAYA, Oct 10 – The Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) has initiated joint efforts with relevant law enforcement agencies to investigate viral video recordings allegedly depicting a Muslim individual engaging in a non-Islamic religious ritual.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan confirmed in a statement on Saturday, October 10, 2026, that the ministry views the widespread circulation of the video clips on social media platforms with serious concern.
According to Dr Zulkifli, the footage allegedly shows a Muslim performing acts associated with non-Islamic worship, including participation in specific religious rituals and the recitation of incantations.
Official Investigation, Faith Safeguards, and Legal Proceedings
The government reiterated its commitment to upholding Islamic principles while ensuring investigations follow due process and legal boundaries:
