KUALA NERUS, Aug 26 — A father and his nine-year-old son were killed in a house fire in Kampung Tok Jembal early this morning.
Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor stated that authorities were alerted at approximately 4:00 am to a fire involving a semi-permanent two-storey house located near Sekolah Kebangsaan Tok Jembal.
A total of 16 personnel from the Kuala Nerus and Kuala Terengganu Fire and Rescue Stations were deployed to the scene to extinguish the blaze and execute rescue operations for the 40-year-old man and his son.
“A Fire and Rescue Tender (FRT) and a Compact Fire and Rescue Tender (CFRT) were also deployed for the operation,” Azli said in a statement today.
Police confirmed that the cause of the fire and the total financial losses incurred remain under investigation.
