Prime Minister Anwar Confirms Government Readiness To Disclose Full CSA Details

Anwar Ibrahim CSA disclosure Bersatu PAS Abdul Hadi

MELAKA, Nov 5 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed on Thursday, November 5, 2026, that the Unity Government has no objections to publicly disclosing the full contents of the Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) recently signed with Opposition Members of Parliament.

Speaking to reporters following the Prime Minister’s Golden Hand Awards 2026 ceremony at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Anwar stated that there is no reason to keep the document confidential. He pledged to table the matter with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof—who manages the parliamentary arrangement—during Friday’s Cabinet meeting to facilitate its public release.

“I have no objection to making it public,” Anwar noted. “In fact, the draft and principles are similar to the agreement signed between Pakatan Harapan and the previous government comprising PAS, Bersatu, and UMNO.”

Anwar was responding to demands from PAS Secretary-General Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, who called on the administration to publish the full terms of the deal. The Prime Minister expressed surprise over Opposition pushback, emphasizing that PAS and Bersatu leaders, including Perikatan Nasional Secretary-General Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, had originally championed a similar bilateral arrangement under previous prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Addressing recent remarks by PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, who described the agreement as a “devilish approach” (often reported using the religious term Dajjal), Anwar called for more measured discourse from religious scholars.

“Tan Sri Hadi is a religious scholar, and his statements should be more measured,” Anwar said. “He tried to explain that his remarks were not directed at me, and that is fine, but it is inappropriate to label a person, group, or position as devilish. How is it that when they do it, it is not devilish, but when others do the same, it becomes devilish? I do not think religion should be used in that manner.”

The political arrangement, signed on October 29, 2026, includes six Bersatu MPs led by party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, alongside seven independent and opposition figures, including Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman. The agreement binds participating lawmakers to support the MADANI government on key parliamentary confidence motions and supply bills through the remainder of the parliamentary term.
