Five individuals

JOHOR BAHRU, Oct 2 – The Marine Police Force Region Two seized 23,000 litres of diesel and five commercial lorries with a total estimated value of RM949,160 during a raid under Op Taring Landai in Taman Kota Puteri, Masai, on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

Marine Police Force Region Two Commander ACP Noor Azman Jamal confirmed that the operation was executed at approximately 11:45 AM by the Johor Marine Intelligence Unit following public tips regarding the illicit diversion of subsidized diesel fuel.

Seizures and Detention Details

Officers initially inspected two lorries along Jalan Penaga and discovered modified rectangular storage tanks loaded with diesel in the rear cargo areas.

Following preliminary questioning of a 50-year-old local man at the scene, police identified three additional lorries parked nearby that were also involved in the illegal scheme.

The total assets and equipment seized during the raid include:

  • Vehicles: Five commercial lorries (two Isuzu, two Hino, and one Mitsubishi Fuso).
  • Contraband: 23,000 litres of subsidized diesel fuel.
  • Equipment: 24 rectangular fuel storage tanks, two electric transfer pumps, and transfer hoses.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the distribution network had been operating illicitly in the area for roughly two months.

The detained suspect, believed to be serving as a distributor, alongside all confiscated vehicles and fuel transfer equipment, has been handed over to the Johor office of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN). The case is being investigated under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
