KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 – Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) is requesting public assistance to track down family members or acquaintances of an unidentified male patient currently receiving treatment at the facility.
The patient, who identifies himself as ‘Thambirajan’, was admitted to the hospital’s Emergency and Trauma Department on Aug 17 after suffering a stroke. Upon admission, he carried no identification documents and was unable to furnish details regarding his identity or background.
“An investigation by the HKL Medical Social Work Department also found that the patient was unable to provide his full name and identification card number,” HKL confirmed in a statement.
Following protocol, the HKL Medical Social Work Department referred the patient to the National Registration Department (NRD) to verify his personal data. However, official background checks revealed that his provided details do not match any existing NRD records.
HKL is appealing to relatives, next of kin, or acquaintances of the patient to step forward or contact the hospital immediately to facilitate ongoing medical care and post-treatment management.
