KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 8 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has decreed that investigations into the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) Report on Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) must be conducted exhaustively and without compromise.
His Majesty emphasized that a thorough investigation is essential to ensure all responsible parties face appropriate legal consequences and to prevent similar governance failures in the future.
The royal directive was issued following an audience granted to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Istana Bukit Tunku today, which lasted over an hour.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister briefed His Majesty on the core findings of the TH RCI Report, as well as current strategic developments involving the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA).
In a statement published on His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim’s official Facebook page following the audience, the King stressed that law enforcement agencies must execute a comprehensive investigation without favoring any individual.
“No one should escape action if they are truly found guilty. Most importantly, things like this must not happen again,” His Majesty declared.
The long-awaited RCI report, officially published on July 29, uncovered critical findings regarding the management, governance, and financial oversight of the pilgrims’ fund board covering the period between 2014 and 2020.
In response to the report’s release, a special sitting of the Dewan Rakyat has been scheduled for August 11, where parliamentarians will debate the RCI findings and discuss recommended institutional reforms.
