Home Ministry Prioritizes Security Assets, Tech Upgrades, And Staff Welfare In Budget 2027

Home Ministry Budget 2027 security assets

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 – The Home Ministry (KDN) is set to prioritize the enhancement of national security assets, technological integration, and personnel welfare through strategic allocations under Budget 2027, scheduled to be tabled on Friday, October 9, 2026.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail confirmed that the ministry’s upcoming budgetary focus will build directly upon operational milestones achieved under the 2026 Budget framework.

“Among these measures, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency’s (MMEA) air capabilities were bolstered by the acquisition of new helicopters, while its maritime fleet capabilities continued to be enhanced through the KM Bendahara and the development of the Multi-Purpose Mission Ship (MPMS),” Saifuddin Nasution stated in a Facebook post on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Technological Advancements and Tactical Integration

The ministry continues to modernize frontline enforcement operations through advanced tech tools and monitoring infrastructure:

  • PDRM Body-Worn Cameras: Body-Worn Camera (BWC) rollouts were expanded across thousands of frontline Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel to elevate enforcement integrity, transparency, and officer safety.
  • Border Surveillance: AI-driven analytics, drone technology, and body camera feeds are being combined to strengthen surveillance along critical border corridors.

Welfare Initiatives and Infrastructure Upgrades

Alongside asset procurement, KDN emphasized continuous support for the living conditions and financial well-being of security forces:

  • Housing & Quarters: Construction, repair, and modernization works were carried out on PDRM quarters and operational sites, including facilities dedicated to the General Operations Force (GOF).
  • New Operational Hubs: Integrated developments, such as the new Marine Police Force headquarters, are being built with boathouses, repair workshops, jetties, and dedicated residential quarters for personnel.
  • RELA Allowance Adjustments: The ministry is actively reviewing allowance rates for People’s Volunteer Corps (RELA) members to better align compensation with current economic realities and duty demands.

Saifuddin Nasution expressed optimism that Budget 2027 initiatives under the MADANI Government will provide necessary resources to navigate increasingly complex security environments.
