Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek Leads 1,328 Recipients of Melaka State Honours

MELAKA, Aug 24 — Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek headed a list of 1,328 award recipients in conjunction with the 77th Birthday of the Yang Dipertua Negeri Melaka, Tun Mohd Ali Rustam, today.

Fadhlina was conferred the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (D.G.S.M), which carries the title of Datuk Seri.

Also conferred the D.G.S.M carrying the title Datuk Seri were Chief Justice of Malaya Datuk Seri Hashim Hamzah, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail, and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman.

Other prominent recipients of the award included Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Chief Gen Tan Sri Muhamad Norazlan Aris, Petronas Downstream Executive President and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Sazali Hamzah, and Malaysian National Silat Federation (Pesaka) President Datuk Seri Megat Zulkarnain Omardin.

Meanwhile, 56 individuals were awarded the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (D.C.S.M), which carries the title Datuk Wira. Among them were Benut Assemblyman Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Director Datuk M. Kumar, National Solid Waste Management Department Director-General Datuk Dr Mohd Azhar Abd Hamid, and Melaka Police Chief Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar.

A total of 14 individuals received the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (D.M.S.M), which carries the title Datuk. Notable honourees included Sabah State Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Datuk Al Hambra Juhar, High Court Judge Datuk Suria Kumar A/L Durairaj Johson Paul, and 3rd Infantry Division Commander Maj Gen Datuk Sani S Omar.

In addition, 189 recipients were conferred the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (D.P.S.M), which also carries the title Datuk. Among the prominent figures receiving the D.P.S.M were Director-General of Broadcasting Datuk Ashwad Ismail, Media Prima Berhad TV Network News and Current Affairs Group Editor Datuk Azhari Muhiddin, and Merlimau-born veteran singer Datuk Siti Roziana Zain, widely known as Ziana Zain.

Across other categories, state awards were presented as follows:

  • Justices of the Peace (JP): 5 recipients
  • Darjah Seri Melaka (D.S.M): 106 recipients
  • Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (B.C.M): 151 recipients
  • Bintang Khidmat Terpuji (B.K.T): 244 recipients
  • Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (P.J.K): 386 recipients
  • Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (P.B.M): 161 recipients
  • Pingat Khidmat Lama (P.K.L): 5 recipients

In a statement today, Melaka State Secretary Datuk Salhah Salleh noted that the awards reflect the state government’s appreciation for individuals who have rendered exemplary service, contributions, and devotion across various sectors toward the progress and well-being of Melaka.

He added that the organization of the Melaka 2026 Awards Ceremony was closely coordinated across all relevant agencies in full compliance with established protocols to ensure a smooth, secure, and comfortable event for all recipients and guests.
