Three Young Siblings Die In Fatal Motorcycle-Lorry Collision In Pontian

PONTIAN, Oct 8 – Three young siblings aged between eight and 18 lost their lives on Thursday morning following a tragic collision between their motorcycle and a heavy lorry along Jalan Kampung Parit Haji Siraj in Kayu Ara Pasong, Pontian.

Pontian District Police Chief Supt Hadzrat Hussein Mion Hussain confirmed that emergency responders received reports of the crash, which occurred at approximately 7:20 AM on October 8, 2026.

The victims were identified as 18-year-old motorcyclist Nor Daniel Aiman Norlizan and his two younger pillion passengers, Nor Daniel Fikri, 11, and Puteri Naufa Raisya, eight.

Incident Details and Medical Response

According to police preliminary findings, the victims were traveling on a Honda motorcycle when the crash occurred:

  • Route and Impact: The motorcycle was traveling from Jalan Parit Haji Omar toward Kayu Ara Pasong when it collided with the front right side of an oncoming Hino lorry.
  • Casualties at Scene: Both younger siblings, aged eight and 11, suffered severe traumatic injuries and were pronounced dead at the crash site by medical personnel.
  • Hospital Fatality: The 18-year-old rider sustained critical injuries and succumbed to his wounds while receiving emergency medical treatment at Pontian Hospital.
  • Lorry Driver Injured: The 69-year-old lorry driver sustained minor injuries to his hands and knees and received medical treatment following the crash.

Police Investigation and Appeal for Witnesses

Police have impounded both involved vehicles to assist with mechanical inspection and accident reconstruction under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless driving.

Investigating officers from the Pontian District Police Headquarters (IPD) have urged eye-witnesses or motorists with dashcam footage of the collision to contact Traffic Investigation Officer Insp Roshini Suppiah at 016-2553983.
