Three Factory Employees Arrested Over RM355,000 Material Theft in Ipoh

IPOH, Sept 7 — Police have arrested three factory employees, including a woman, for their suspected involvement in the theft of high-value production materials worth an estimated RM355,000 from a facility in the Pulai Jaya Industrial Area.

Ipoh District Police Chief ACP Muhammad Najib Hamzah confirmed that the arrests involved workers aged between 28 and 35 following a police report detailing the disappearance of approximately 64 rolls of manufacturing materials.

Speaking at the PDRM Dinner with Media Practitioners last night, Muhammad Najib stated that investigators believe internal staff working within the plant’s computer component production section were directly involved in illicitly removing the inventory.

“We believe the employee was involved in removing the valuable stock and worked in the computer component production section. The investigation is still ongoing to determine the actual losses and the role of each individual involved,” Muhammad Najib said.

Muhammad Najib added that police have identified a fourth individual believed to be connected to the case. All three detained suspects will be brought to court for a remand application, with the case being investigated under Section 381 of the Penal Code for theft by a servant.
