TANJONG MALIM, 22 Aug – The 2026 Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) Sports Carnival is not merely a platform for competition and the pursuit of victory, but also serves as a platform to cultivate a disciplined, resilient and highly motivated workforce.

TH Group Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer, Mustakim Mohamad, said the carnival also played an important role in fostering teamwork and strengthening ties among employees across the TH Group.

He said the values instilled through sports activities were in line with TH’s Cultural Values (FAITH), which serve as the foundation for the organisation’s work culture and excellence.

“Although the carnival takes place on the sports field, the values demonstrated by each participant actually reflect the work culture that we seek to instil and practise within the organisation.

“Values such as Agile, High Performing and Inspirational can be demonstrated through our ability to work together, adapt to challenges and move swiftly as one team, while also displaying a high level of discipline and commitment to achieving the best performance and pursuing continuous improvement,” he said.

He said this when officiating the 2026 TH Sports Carnival at Panggung Percubaan, Sultan Azlan Shah Campus, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), here today.

Also present was UPSI Vice-Chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Md Amin Md Taff.

Mustakim said the 2026 TH Sports Carnival featured 13 sporting events involving nine contingents comprising five regions, the Headquarters and three subsidiaries, with a total participation of 892 participants.

“Let this sporting spirit inspire us to continue giving our best in carrying out our daily duties and responsibilities,” he said.

Meanwhile, TH Sports Club President and 2026 TH Sports Carnival Programme Director, Mustafa Kamal Abdul Latif, said a total of 413 medals were up for grabs at the carnival, with intense competition expected among all contingents.

He also reminded all athletes to prioritise safety and health throughout the competition, including performing warm-up exercises, maintaining adequate hydration and being aware of their own physical capabilities.

“We want everyone to give their best, but at the same time, safety and health must always remain the priority,” he said.

Meanwhile, Prof Md Amin said the university was honoured to host the 2026 TH Sports Carnival and had provided suitable facilities and infrastructure to ensure the smooth running of the programme.

“The hosting of the carnival reflects the confidence placed in UPSI as an institution equipped with sports facilities and infrastructure capable of supporting the organisation of large-scale programmes,” he said.
