Ten Johor Exco Members Sworn In, Four New Faces Debut

Johor Exco members sworn in

JOHOR BAHRU, July 18 — Ten Johor assemblymen officially took their oaths of office today as members of the Johor State Executive Council (Exco) for the new term, swearing-in before the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, at Istana Bukit Serene.

The newly formed council features a strategic mix of returning administrative hands alongside four newly appointed representatives making their official debut in the state leadership line-up.

The returning Exco members include Mohd Hairi Mad Shah (Larkin), Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor (Bukit Permai), Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid (Semerah), Ling Tian Soon (Yong Peng), Lee Ting Han (Paloh), and Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh (Bukit Pasir).

Injecting fresh blood into the state administration are the four newly appointed faces: Md Israk Abdullah (Kukup), P. Pannir Selvam (Perling), Hasrunizah Hassan (Pulai Sebatang), and Muhammad Naqib Md Ghazali (Panti).

The high-profile ceremony was witnessed by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Johor Council of Royal Court president Datuk Dr Abdul Rahim Ramli, and State Secretary Datuk Mohammed Ridha Abd Kadir.

The legal formation of the Exco cabinet follows last Sunday’s milestone where Onn Hafiz—who also serves as the Machap assemblyman—was formally sworn in as the Johor Menteri Besar for a second consecutive term.

The state chief executive and Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman clinched his Machap seat with a commanding majority of 15,375 votes during the 16th Johor State Election. The landslide election saw the BN coalition successfully capture 48 out of the 56 contested seats in the state legislative assembly, providing a decisive democratic mandate to steer the state government for the new term.
