ISTANBUL, Aug 4 — Popular messaging application Telegram temporarily vanished from search results on Apple’s App Store worldwide, according to financial news portal Watcher.Guru.
While the app was unavailable for new downloads, users who had it previously installed on their devices reported that the service remained fully functional, sending and receiving messages without interruption.
The application remained available on Google’s Play Store for Android users during the outage.
Telegram confirmed to Anadolu Agency following inquiries that the platform has since been restored to the App Store and will soon be accessible for all users again. However, neither Apple nor Telegram founder Pavel Durov has issued official public statements explaining the root cause of the brief search outage.
Apple previously removed Telegram from its storefront in 2018. At that time, Durov stated that the temporary removal occurred after Apple flagged “inappropriate content” on the platform.
