Radzi Urges Debate Extention on Tabung Haji RCI Report in Dewan Rakyat Special Sitting

KUALA LUMPUR — Putrajaya Member of Parliament Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin has urged the government to extend the upcoming Special Dewan Rakyat Meeting on the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report into Lembaga Tabung Haji to at least two days to ensure a thorough debate.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Radzi revealed that he has submitted an official letter regarding the proposal to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in his capacity as Leader of the House.

Radzi argued that the one-day special sitting currently scheduled for August 11 is insufficient given that the RCI report impacts millions of depositors and directly concerns the governance and integrity of the nation’s premier Islamic financial institution.

He stated that the proposal aligns with recommendations made by Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who emphasized that lawmakers must be granted ample time and space to debate every finding, recommendation, and subsequent government action comprehensively.

Radzi stressed that a broader debate window would allow MPs from both the government and opposition benches to fulfill their responsibilities by reviewing the full report, seeking detailed clarifications from the government, and evaluating follow-up measures to safeguard Tabung Haji’s future management and transparency.
