Police Hunt Men Over Violent Bandar Sunway Cafe Brawl

Bandar Sunway cafe brawl riot

KUALA LUMPUR, July 8 — Authorities are tracking down a group of men suspected of initiating a violent brawl and riot that left three individuals injured at a cafe in Bandar Sunway early this morning.

Subang Jaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Wan Azlan Wan Mamat confirmed that emergency services responded to a formal report regarding the altercation at 6:16 AM.

“Initial investigations found that the incident was believed to have stemmed from a misunderstanding between the victims and the group of men who were at the location before the fight broke out,” Wan Azlan said in an official statement today.

The physical dispute escalated rapidly, resulting in three victims sustaining minor injuries. All three individuals were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital where they received medical treatment.

Forensic teams and investigators have conducted a thorough sweep of the commercial property to collect evidence. Federal police have already recorded formal statements from on-scene witnesses and successfully extracted footage from localized closed-circuit television (CCTV) security systems to identify the fugitives.

The criminal case is currently being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting while armed with a weapon or objects capable of being used as a weapon. A conviction under this section carries a statutory penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to five years, a fine, or both.

Wan Azlan strongly urged members of the public to remain responsible and exercise restraint online, cautioning against spreading unverified videos or digital speculation that could compromise the integrity of the active manhunt.
