KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 — Sentul police have arrested a suspect in connection with the brutal Aug 9 attack in which an elderly woman was doused with petrol and set alight at a lottery outlet in Taman Pusat Kepong.

Sentul Acting Police Chief Supt Jasni Zolpa confirmed the arrest when contacted today, adding that authorities will disclose further details during an official press conference scheduled for tomorrow.

“Yes, the suspect has been arrested and a press conference will be held tomorrow,” Jasni said.

The 62-year-old victim, who worked behind the counter at the outlet, suffered severe burns across approximately 50 per cent of her body in the attack.

According to police, authorities were alerted to the violent assault at around 8:00 am on Aug 9, after an unidentified assailant doused the counter worker with a liquid believed to be petrol before igniting it inside the premises.
