KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his sincere gratitude to all who prayed for his well-being and sent greetings on the occasion of his 79th birthday on Monday.
In an official press statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office today, Senior Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Tunku Nashrul Abaidah confirmed that Anwar’s health condition is steadily improving and that he will continue to undergo physiotherapy treatment under the supervision of a team of medical specialists.
Concurrently, the Prime Minister extended an apology for his physical absence from today’s Special Sitting of the Dewan Rakyat, which was convened to debate the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Lembaga Tabung Haji, while sending his best wishes for a smooth parliamentary proceeding.
“At the same time, the Prime Minister apologises for being unable to join the Special Sitting to debate the Tabung Haji RCI Report and prays that the session proceeds smoothly,” Tunku Nashrul said in the statement.
Tunku Nashrul emphasized that the Prime Minister remains firmly dedicated to following the parliamentary debates closely to ensure that the integrity and trust of the nation’s premier Islamic institution are continuously protected.
“He will follow the debate closely to ensure that the trust of this Islamic institution continues to be safeguarded,” Tunku Nashrul added.
