MELAKA, Aug 15 — Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) is set to overhaul its communication and information dissemination strategy to ensure key government policies and achievements are clearly understood by the public.
PKR Information Chief Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, who is also Communications Minister, confirmed the move following feedback and proposals put forward by party delegates at the ongoing PKR National Congress 2026 at the Melaka International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh.
Addressing reporters during a visit to the media room at the congress today, Fahmi noted that a primary concern raised by grassroots delegates was the disconnect between macro-level national achievements and the day-to-day economic realities of ordinary households.
“This is important (to strengthen information dissemination and communication). Many have said that despite various government efforts and achievements, especially those related to macroeconomic matters, these have yet to be translated into improvements felt at the household level,” Fahmi stated.
“This is among the key messages for me, the Communications Ministry, as well as in my capacity as Information Chief and Communications Director of Pakatan Harapan,” he added.
Fahmi disclosed that several proposed adjustments to the party’s communication machinery will be outlined during the congress winding-up session tomorrow.
Welcoming input from local party branches, the minister expressed appreciation for division leaders eager to serve as direct conduits for information sharing between local communities and federal leadership.
“I remain open to these views and appreciate the willingness of branch leaders who have expressed their commitment to play a greater role in disseminating information,” Fahmi said.
“Such a channel has existed before, but perhaps a more formal arrangement is needed to ensure issues at the parliamentary level can be brought to our attention in Putrajaya and solutions can be worked out,” he explained.
Fahmi added that PKR’s Central Leadership Council (MPP) remains fully receptive to delegate feedback and intends to lead the transformation by instituting changes within the party’s own leadership structure first.
