PKNPk Lodges Police and MCMC Reports Over Defamatory Facebook Posts Against Management

IPOH, Aug 12 — The Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk) has lodged official reports with the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) following the online dissemination of unverified allegations against the corporation, its leadership, and associated individuals.

In an official statement released on its official Facebook page today, PKNPk confirmed it was tracking several posts published by a Facebook page that has consistently leveled serious allegations against the state-owned development agency and its executive team.

The agency stressed that spreading allegations lacking verifiable facts risks harming the corporate reputation and credibility of PKNPk while eroding trust among investors, key stakeholders, and the public.

While acknowledging public discourse and constructive feedback through formal channels, PKNPk emphasized that freedom of expression must be exercised responsibly without degenerating into defamation or illegal activities.

“In this regard, PKNPk lodged several reports and complaints with police and MCMC between July 30 and Aug 3 regarding the dissemination of the allegations,” the corporation said in its statement.

PKNPk further noted that it has engaged legal counsel to determine necessary legal remedies against any individual or group responsible for originating or redistributing false, malicious, or unlawful content targeting the organization.

Reaffirming its commitment to state growth, PKNPk stated that it remains dedicated to fulfilling its core mandate as Perak’s primary development agency, guided strictly by governance principles, transparency, and public accountability.

“PKNPk will continue to focus on fulfilling its mandate and responsibilities as the state’s development agency, guided by the principles of integrity, accountability and the interests of Perak,” the statement added.
