Negeri Sembilan DAP Lodges Police Report Over Facebook Post Linking Party to State Crisis

State DAP chairman J. Arul Kumar

SEREMBAN, Oct 1 – Negeri Sembilan DAP lodged a police report on Thursday, October 1, 2026, regarding a social media post allegedly linking the political party to the state’s ongoing administrative crisis and the royal institution.

State DAP chairman J. Arul Kumar lodged the report at the Seremban district police headquarters, calling attention to allegations published by a Facebook account operating under the name “Khalide Al Walid.”

According to Arul, the post made unfounded accusations connecting the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan with DAP, while also linking the party to disputes surrounding customary land.

“As a political party, we are accustomed to criticism and pressure, but when the royal institution is linked to any political party, it crosses the line,” Arul told reporters outside the police station.

Rebuttal of Allegations and Call for Investigation

Arul, who serves as the assemblyman for Nilai, addressed several specific claims made in the social media post:

  • Customary Land Ownership: Arul stated that the transfer of ownership of customary land had never been raised or discussed during his eight years serving as a state executive councillor.
  • Religious Office Briefings: He clarified that DAP elected representatives who attended briefings at the local religious office did so strictly in their official capacity as public representatives to gather information for their constituents, particularly Muslim voters.
  • Renaming of Roads: Arul emphasized that road renaming decisions fall strictly under the jurisdiction of the State Executive Council and should not be attributed to or politicized by any single political party.

DAP requested that the police conduct a full investigation to identify the account holder behind the post and determine appropriate legal action.

Arul stressed that the royal institution must remain above party politics and urged for a swift resolution to the state’s ongoing political crisis to ensure the Negeri Sembilan government can function effectively.
