AYER KEROH, Sept 26 – Musyawarah Nasional 3.0 – Membongkar Polemik Tanah Melayu has proposed three key measures to strengthen public understanding and appreciation of the Federal Constitution.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also the founder of Musyawarah Nasional, outlined the first measure as enhancing national constitutional literacy through history education.

“Our children need to be guided to examine sources and understand how history is shaped and substantiated. Give them the space to ask questions and challenge interpretations, while remaining accountable to the facts,” Ahmad Zahid said when officiating the convention at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh on Saturday.

“In a world awash with information, this ability is increasingly important. Technology can make a story go viral, but knowledge is needed to determine whether it is true,” he added, alongside Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, who was also in attendance.

Detailing the second proposal, Ahmad Zahid emphasized the necessity of cultivating a shared understanding of the nation’s foundational principles across all educational backgrounds.

He stated that every Malaysian youth must comprehend the history surrounding the nation’s formation, ensuring that as they engage with global perspectives, they remain anchored to their homeland and mindful of their civic duties.

Regarding the third proposal, the Deputy Prime Minister called for a comprehensive study into establishing a dedicated legal framework designed to safeguard national harmony and social cohesion.

“Incitement of hatred must be addressed through clear provisions and fair processes,” Ahmad Zahid noted. “At the same time, academic research, fact-based debate and legitimate criticism must continue to be protected. The space for knowledge must remain vibrant while our shared way of life is preserved.”

To reinforce these goals, Ahmad Zahid introduced the “AKAR” framework—an acronym representing:
