Man Dies After Hilux Plunges 100 Metres Into Ravine, Found Two Days Later

KOTA BHARU, Oct 7 – A local man was killed after his four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle skidded and plunged into a 100-metre-deep ravine at Jalan Ladang Pos Pulat in Gua Musang, with the wreckage discovered two days later.

Gua Musang District Police Chief Supt Sik Choon Foo stated that police received a report from a member of the public at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, regarding the discovery of a Toyota Hilux at the bottom of the ravine.

First responders found the victim unconscious inside the vehicle, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

  • Cause of Crash: Preliminary findings indicate the vehicle skidded while traveling downhill before veering off the road into the ravine.
  • Unwitnessed Incident: Due to the remote location and steep terrain, no witnesses observed the crash, leaving the vehicle unnoticed until the search effort was mounted.
  • Body Recovery: Personnel from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) retrieved the victim’s body from the ravine before transferring it to the Forensic Unit at Gua Musang Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
