MACC Remands Fertilizer Company MD Over Delayed Supply to Kedah Paddy Farmers

MACC remand fertilizer supply Kedah paddy farmers

ALOR SETAR, Sept 13 – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Kedah has remanded the managing director of a fertilizer supplier company in connection with delays in the distribution supply of Supplementary Compound Fertilizer to paddy farmers across the state.

The Magistrate’s Court in Alor Setar granted a four-day remand order until September 16 against the male suspect in his 30s following an application by the graft buster on Sunday morning. MACC sources revealed that the suspect was detained at approximately 2:30 pm on Saturday after arriving to give a statement at the Kedah MACC headquarters. The case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009 for submitting false receipts or documents.

The remand follows an official investigation paper opened by MACC into delayed distributions of “Paddy Fertilizer 3” to local agricultural communities. The probe was initiated following a complaint lodged on August 26 by the Malaysian Paddy Farmers Brotherhood Organisation (PeSAWAH), which warned that supply bottlenecks were disrupting farming operations across 100,000 hectares under the Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA) zone.
