MACC Arrests Former Tabung Haji Chairman and Ex-Treasury Secretary General Over RCI Report Findings

MACC arrests ex-Tabung Haji chairman ex-Treasury secretary general

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested an ex-chairman of the Tabung Haji (TH) Board and a former secretary-general of the Treasury to assist in investigations into issues raised in the Tabung Haji Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) Report.

The two suspects, both in their 60s, were detained at approximately 4:00 pm today after appearing at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya.

According to an update published on the agency’s official TikTok account, both individuals are expected to be brought to the Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court tomorrow morning for a remand application.

MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman confirmed the arrests when contacted.

The latest arrests follow earlier enforcement action on August 15, when MACC detained seven individuals—including a chief executive officer, a company director, a former company director, and four former senior management officers of TH—as part of ongoing investigations linked to the pilgrimage fund.
