PUTRAJAYA, Aug 26 — The Embassy of Malaysia in Kathmandu has received reports that 11 Malaysian nationals believed to be in Nepal’s Rasuwa district are uncontactable following massive floods in the region.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra), the loss of contact is believed to be a direct result of severe disruptions to power and communication networks caused by the disaster.
“The Embassy is actively coordinating with local authorities and the search and rescue teams currently being deployed by the Nepalese government to locate the affected Malaysians and ascertain their safety,” Wisma Putra stated in a media advisory today.
Wisma Putra advised all Malaysians residing in or travelling through Nepal, particularly those near the affected regions, to remain vigilant, prioritise personal safety, and strictly follow instructions issued by local authorities.
Malaysians in the country are also urged to register and update their contact details on the official e-Konsular portal ([https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my](https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my)).
