ALOR GAJAH, Oct 31 – A high-profile delegation of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) leaders—including Cabinet ministers—accompanied Datuk Ginie Lim Siew Lin to the N08 Machap Jaya nomination centre on Saturday morning, October 31, 2026, underlining the seat’s strategic significance on nomination day for the 16th Melaka State Election.
Lim arrived at the Machap Jaya Development and Coordination Complex (JAPERUN) in Bukit Bulat, Alor Gajah, at approximately 8:20 AM accompanied by a strong crowd of supporters and national party figures.
The PKR delegation escorting Lim included PKR Vice-President Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (currently performing the duties of PKR Deputy President), PKR Vice-President Datuk Seri R. Ramanan, PKR Women’s Wing Chief Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek, and PKR Central Leadership Council (MPP) member Dr Maszlee Malik.
Prior to marching to the nomination venue, Lim was spotted having breakfast at a nearby stall at 7:45 AM alongside campaign workers and representatives from Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Incumbent Machap Jaya assemblyman Datuk Ngwe Hee Sem of Barisan Nasional (BN-MCA) arrived at the nomination hall accompanied by MCA Secretary-General Datuk Chong Sin Woon.
Parti Bersama Malaysia (BERSAMA) candidate B. Prasanth Kumar also submitted his nomination forms after arriving at the venue at around 8:00 AM with his supporters.
Lim previously won the Machap Jaya constituency in the 14th General Election in 2018 with a 1,336-vote majority after securing 5,550 votes in a three-cornered contest against BN-MCA’s Koh Nai Kwong and PAS’s Wan Zahidi Wan Ismail.
In the 2021 Melaka State Election, BN’s Ngwe Hee Sem won the seat with 3,732 votes, defeating PH candidate Law Bing Haw by a 938-vote majority in a five-way clash after Lim did not seek re-election.
