Four Men Arrested Over Violent Roadside Attack in Kajang

Kajang roadside attack attempted murder police arrest

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 — Police have arrested four local men in connection with a violent roadside attack near Taman West Country, Kajang, which left a 29-year-old man severely injured early Saturday morning.

Kajang District Police Chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof stated that authorities received a report regarding the incident at 2:28 am, after the victim was set upon with sharp weapons by several individuals known to him. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment for serious injuries at Kajang Hospital.

Following the attack, the Kajang District Police Headquarters Criminal Investigation Division launched an operation that led to the arrest of four suspects aged between their 20s and 30s in surrounding areas of Kajang on Saturday and early Sunday morning.

Naazron disclosed that all four suspects have prior criminal and drug-related records. The suspects have been remanded for four days until Wednesday, Sept 2, to assist with ongoing investigations.

“Initial urine screening found that one of the suspects tested positive for methamphetamine, and the suspect is also being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for allegedly self-administering drugs,” Naazron said in a statement today.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting while armed with offensive weapons. Police are conducting further inquiries to establish the motive behind the assault and track down any remaining accomplices.
