KUANTAN, Sept 1 — Four people were killed in an 11-vehicle collision at KM110 of the East Coast Expressway 1 (LPT1) heading towards Kuantan late Monday night.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department Operations Assistant Director Mohd Salahuddin Isa stated that the department received an emergency call regarding the accident near Lanchang at 10:44 pm.
Emergency responders arriving at the scene found four victims trapped inside two of the involved vehicles. Three of the victims—a man, a woman, and a young boy—were travelling in one car, while the fourth victim, a man, was inside a separate vehicle. Firefighters extricated all four individuals, who were subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health medical personnel.
The multi-vehicle crash also involved a passenger bus carrying 30 people, all of whom escaped without injury.
