SHAH ALAM, Aug 13 — A late-night fire severely damaged a 40-by-100-square-foot premises functioning as a fertiliser processing facility and car engine oil store along Jalan Bukit Cherakah in Section U9, near the Monterez Golf Club, last night.
Despite the intensity of the blaze, authorities confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported. The cause of the incident and the total financial losses remain under investigation.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division Assistant Director Ashrul Riezal Asbar stated that emergency services were alerted to the situation at 10.49 pm, prompting an immediate deployment.
“The first fire engine from the Bukit Jelutong Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene 10 minutes later,” Ashrul Riezal said in an official statement today.
“The fire involved a Class B building structure used as a fertiliser processing facility and vehicle engine oil storage,” he added.
A total of 25 officers and firefighters equipped with fire engines from the Bukit Jelutong, Sungai Buloh, Shah Alam, and Klang Utara fire stations were dispatched to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjacent properties.
The emergency response was further reinforced by 22 members from four Voluntary Fire Brigades representing Saujana Utama, Rantau Panjang, Klang (Briged Amal), Kampung Delek, and Serdang.
Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control at 11.23 pm before fully extinguishing the flames at 1.25 am. Following the suppression, rescue crews performed extensive overhaul operations to ensure all remaining embers were completely doused, eliminating any potential risk of reignition.
