Banting school girl stabbing suspect

KUALA LANGAT, July 7 — The 15-year-old suspect arrested in connection with the horrific stabbing of a Form Three female student at a school in Banting has been formally remanded for four days to facilitate an ongoing attempted murder investigation.

Telok Datok Magistrate’s Court judge, Magistrate Maslinda Selamat, granted the dependency order today, keeping the teenage suspect in police custody until July 10. The legal development was confirmed via a WhatsApp update by Kuala Langat District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi.

Providing key contextual details about the minor’s background, National Legal Aid Foundation (YBGK) counsel S. Vijeswari Devi, who is representing the suspect, confirmed that her client is a person with autism. The suspect was observed arriving at the court complex under heavy police escort in a standard police vehicle at approximately 8 am before being transported back to the holding facility at around 9 am after the brief closed-door remand hearing.

The judicial proceedings follow an official press statement released yesterday by the Selangor State Education Department, which first disclosed that law enforcement officers had successfully apprehended a suspect believed to be directly involved in the violent stabbing of a female student at a school in Banting.

While the exact motive behind the schoolground assault remains under intense police investigation, institutional representatives confirmed that the severely injured student was immediately rushed to the medical emergency wing and is currently being treated at Banting Hospital.

The gravity of the physical assault was later laid bare by the distraught family of the minor. Speaking directly to members of the press, the victim’s father told reporters that his daughter had suffered lung injuries and 16 stab wounds, leaving her in a critical condition as medical professionals work to stabilize her trauma injuries.
