SHAH ALAM, Nov 3 – The Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters’ Criminal Investigation Department (CID) successfully dismantled a human smuggling ring during ‘Op Pintas’ raids across Sabak Bernam on Monday, November 2, 2026.
The operation, spearheaded by the D7 Division (Secret Societies, Gambling and Vice), led to the arrest of 36 individuals, including two children, across three targeted locations.
According to an official Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) statement issued on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the two-day joint operation commenced on November 1. It involved multi-agency coordination between the Air Operations Force (PGU) drone unit, the Marine Police Force, and members of the D6 Technical/Forensic Division.
Police investigations revealed that the syndicate specialized in smuggling migrants into and out of Malaysia via unauthorized maritime routes, charging victims between RM1,500 and RM1,800 per person. Local transporters involved in the network were compensated with fees starting from RM500 per trip to shuttle migrants to various destinations across the Klang Valley.
During the raids, police officers seized 11 vehicles, 13 mobile phones, and RM4,930 in cash believed to be proceeds from the illegal smuggling operation.
The case is currently being investigated under Sections 26A and 26J of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007 (ATIPSOM), as well as Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
