MOE Opens Special Channel For PIBG Direct School Repair Applications Under RM2 Billion Allocation

MOE PIBG school repair funds Budget 2027

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 – The Ministry of Education (MOE) has established a dedicated direct application portal for Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG) to submit school maintenance and repair funding requests for 2027.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, MOE announced that applications will be open throughout the month of November—from November 1 to 30, 2026—via a dedicated online link and official QR code.

The initiative operationalizes the RM2 billion total school maintenance and repair allocation announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim under Budget 2027, representing a RM1 billion increase over previous funding levels to cover all categories of schools nationwide.

“However, this does not mean every application submitted will be approved automatically,” MOE clarified in the announcement. “Each proposal must be based on genuine need, with priority given to critical damage and matters involving safety risks to students and school staff.”

The ministry expressed confidence that the direct portal will eliminate administrative bottlenecks by allowing PIBGs to report urgent infrastructure defects directly to central authorities.

This move follows directives issued by Prime Minister Anwar during his 2026 National Day address in August, where he instructed MOE to mobilize ground-level reviews across all districts to accelerate school infrastructure assessments.

Portal Windows, Eligibility Criteria, and Budget Allocation

Key application windows, evaluation priorities, and financial parameters include:

  • Application Window: November 1 to November 30, 2026, via MOE’s digital portal link and official QR code.
  • Eligible Applicants: Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG) representing all categories of public schools nationwide.
  • Evaluation & Approval Criteria: Non-automatic approvals prioritizing genuine infrastructure needs, structural damage, and active student/staff safety hazards.
  • Budget 2027 Funding Backing: Backed by the RM2 billion school maintenance allocation (doubled from RM1 billion) announced in Budget 2027.
