MELAKA, Oct 30 – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) will field candidates under its official party logo in the upcoming 16th Melaka State Election on November 14, 2026.

Bersatu Secretary-General and Election Director Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali confirmed that official written notification was submitted to the Election Commission (EC) last week regarding the party’s symbol.

Speaking to journalists following the official Bersatu Candidate Announcement Ceremony at the party’s main operations centre in Baitul Tariq, Klebang, on Thursday night, October 29, 2026, Azmin noted that the decision was fully endorsed by Bersatu President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The event was attended by senior party leadership, including Bersatu Vice-President Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin, who officially announced the candidate line-up across eight target state assembly constituencies.

Addressing electoral clashes with Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates in four overlapping seats—Kelebang (contested against PKR) alongside Gadek, Ayer Keroh, and Pengkalan Batu (contested against DAP)—Azmin framed the contests as healthy democratic competition.

He stated that Bersatu would avoid negative campaigning and personal attacks, focusing instead on policy proposals centered on economic relief, job creation, and public welfare for the voters of Melaka.

Contested Seats, Party Leadership, and Campaign Strategy

Key seats contested, party announcements, and election strategies include:

  • Electoral Clashes with PH: Direct multi-cornered contests expected against PKR in Kelebang and DAP in Gadek, Ayer Keroh, and Pengkalan Batu.
  • Campaign Policy Focus: Strategy prioritizes constructive policy proposals, economic recovery, and employment growth over negative political attacks.
