KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 1 — The National Registration Department (NRD / JPN) has announced temporary disruptions to its MyKad printing services from today through Sept 7 as the department transitions from the existing MyKad structure to the new-generation MyKad.
In a statement issued today, the department advised members of the public who do not have an urgent requirement to replace or renew their MyKad to postpone their transactions during this one-week transitional window.
JPN also specifically requested parents and guardians of first-time applicants—particularly children reaching the age of 12—to hold off on submitting applications for now, ensuring that their children receive the new-generation MyKad once printing operations normalize.
“The department apologises for any inconvenience caused in connection with this matter,” JPN stated, expressing its gratitude to the public for their patience and cooperation during the service transition.
