KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 1 — Police are actively tracking down a foreigner suspected of molesting an 11-year-old girl at a business premises in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, earlier this week.

Sungai Buloh police chief Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor confirmed that a report regarding the July 29 incident was received via the Kampung Baru Subang police station.

“We are working to trace and arrest the suspect. The case has been classified under Section 14 (A) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017,” Mohd Hafiz said in a statement today.

The investigation follows a viral social media video showing two young girls being approached by a man inside a retail store, during which he allegedly committed an indecent act against one of them.

The footage sparked widespread public outrage online, with netizens urging law enforcement authorities to swiftly apprehend the suspect.

Police have appealed to anyone with relevant information to contact the lead investigating officer, Insp Muhammad Amirul Amin Shukor, at 013-669 5290, or report to the nearest police station.
