Sabah State Assembly Passes RM1.61 Billion Supplementary Supply Bill 2026

KOTA KINABALU, July 21 — The Sabah State Legislative Assembly today passed the RM1.61 billion Supplementary Supply Bill 2026 following an extensive debate session involving 42 state assemblymen.

The supplementary allocation bill, which was officially tabled yesterday by Deputy Chief Minister II and State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, was approved by a majority voice vote. The legislative proceedings were presided over by Sabah State Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Datuk Al Hambra Tun Juhar.

The additional funding framework encompasses six main expenditure categories designed to support ongoing state administration, key development initiatives, and essential operational requirements through the remainder of the fiscal year.

Under the approved schedule, the largest single portion of the supplementary allocation comprises RM856 million allocated for statutory fund contributions. Operating expenditure accounts for RM278 million, while development expenditure receives RM210 million.

Additionally, the supplementary bill provides RM162 million for administrative expenditure, RM93 million in state grants, and RM13 million for special allocations.

Following the conclusion of the budget debates and subsequent voice vote, the Sabah State Legislative Assembly adjourned and is scheduled to resume its sitting tomorrow.
