KOTA KINABALU, Aug 3 — Parti Warisan (Warisan) has strongly rejected viral social media claims alleging that the party has decided to withdraw from the Unity Government, clarifying that the rumor stems from a fabricated party document.

In a statement issued on Monday, Warisan Secretary-General Datuk Loretto S. Padua Jr. described the viral post as a malicious fabrication designed to tarnish the party’s reputation. He emphasized that irresponsible actors had forged an official party document to make it appear as though he had issued the announcement.

Echoing the denial, Deputy Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Mohammad Yusof Apdal—who is also the Member of Parliament for Lahad Datu—confirmed that the document titled “Parti WARISAN Menarik Diri Daripada Kerajaan Perpaduan” is fake.

Mohammad Yusof stressed that as Warisan’s representative in the Federal Government, no such decision or announcement had been made by the party’s supreme leadership. He urged the public to verify information before sharing and to refrain from circulating false documents intended to trigger political speculation.

He added that any official decisions or policy stances by Warisan will only be announced through authorized leadership and official communication channels.
