KUALA PILAH, Aug 7 — Ten Negeri Sembilan assemblymen took their oaths of office today as members of the State Executive Council (Exco) before the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, in an official ceremony at Istana Besar Seri Menanti.
The state leadership structure sees Linggi assemblyman Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli and Palong assemblyman Datuk Mustapha Nagoor retained as Exco members in the new administration.
The eight newly appointed Exco members comprise Chembong assemblyman Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris, Chennah assemblyman Siow Kong Choon, Labu assemblywoman Siti Nur Umaira Hasim, and Lenggeng assemblyman Datuk Mohd Asna Amin.
Completing the state executive council lineup are Sungai Lui assemblyman Datuk Mohd Razi Mohd Ali, Gemencheh assemblyman Suhaimizan Bizar, Serting assemblyman Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa, and Sikamat assemblyman Datuk Razali Abu Samah.
The solemn swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by Tunku Ampuan Besar Tuanku Aishah Rohani Tengku Besar Mahmud, Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin Tuanku Muhriz, and Tunku Panglima Besar Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin Tuanku Muhriz.
Also in attendance were Undang Luak Sungei Ujong Datuk Klana Petra Muhammad Faris Johari, Undang Luak Rembau Datuk Sedia Raja Hassan Ab Hamid, and Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim.
The formation of the new state executive council follows the results of the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election, in which Barisan Nasional (BN) captured 18 seats while Perikatan Nasional (PN) won seven seats, enabling the two coalitions to establish a joint state government commanding a two-thirds legislative majority.
