MELAKA, Nov 8 – State governments must work in tandem with the federal administration to ensure national development policies and economic plans are implemented effectively for the people’s benefit, stated PKR Youth (AMK) chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim.
Speaking to reporters after attending a group ceramah in support of Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Kelebang seat, Farzana Hayani Mohd Nasir, on Saturday night, November 7, 2026, Muhammad Kamil emphasized that political alignment between state and federal leadership is essential for comprehensive national progress.
“There must be leaders (at the state level) who share the federal government’s stance so that all plans involving the people’s development in the state can move in tandem with the objectives and aspirations of the federal government,” he asserted.
Muhammad Kamil, who also serves as Political Secretary to the Finance Minister, highlighted the long-stalled Melaka Gateway project as an example of untapped potential. He noted that while the project could significantly add value to the state’s economy and regional trade performance if properly managed, the state government has failed to take effective action despite repeated promises of revival.
Addressing local community issues in the Kelebang constituency, he pledged to support Farzana Hayani in resolving persistent infrastructure challenges, specifically the 20-year flood problems in Bukit Rambai and Seberang Gajah.
“I will personally speak to the Prime Minister and submit an appeal to him on this issue, just as I did for this area a month ago, as there is an urgent need to address it,” Muhammad Kamil stated.
The Election Commission has set Tuesday, November 10, 2026, for early voting, followed by official polling day on Saturday, November 14, for the 16th Melaka State Election.
