KUANTAN, July 25 — Six men lost their lives early this morning after the car they were travelling in collided with a one-tonne lorry along Jalan Karak Lama near Bentong, Pahang.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Mohd Salahuddin Isa confirmed that the department received an emergency call at 4:24 AM regarding the crash near Klinik Desa Jambu Rias, following which a response unit from the Karak Fire and Rescue station was immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found all six occupants of the Toyota Vios trapped inside the heavily damaged vehicle.

“The six men travelling in the Toyota Vios were found trapped inside the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene by Ministry of Health (MOH) personnel,” Salahuddin said in an official statement today.

The driver of the one-tonne lorry sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to a nearby hospital by an MOH ambulance for medical treatment.

“The bodies of the six victims were later handed over to the police for further action, while the injured victim was placed in the care of the MOH,” Salahuddin added.
