KUANTAN, Sept 6 — Police have launched an investigation into an alleged child abuse incident involving a two-year-old girl at a nursery in Temerloh.
Temerloh District Police Chief ACP Mohd Nasyim Bahron confirmed that the child’s 29-year-old mother lodged a police report regarding the alleged mistreatment at around 6:00 pm yesterday.
“An investigation paper has been opened, and the case is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001,” Mohd Nasyim said in a statement today.
He added that upon completion, the investigation paper will be referred to the public prosecutor for further evaluation and instructions.
The police investigation follows a video clip that circulated widely on social media depicting the young toddler allegedly being mistreated by a nursery caretaker, sparking widespread public concern and outrage.
