PM Anwar table Budget 2027 Dewan Rakyat

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9  – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who also serves as Finance Minister, is scheduled to table Budget 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat at 3:30 PM today, Friday, October 9, 2026.

Marking the fifth national budget under his MADANI Government, the 2027 financial plan focuses on translating high-value national growth into tangible public well-being while fortifying the nation’s economic resilience.

The parliamentary session will be broadcast live across major national television networks and online streaming channels, with Bernama TV hosting a dedicated Budget 2027 Analysis program at 8:30 PM tonight.

Core Pillars, 10 Strategic Priorities, and Parliamentary Timeline

Formulated as the second budget under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), Budget 2027 expands upon structural reforms introduced in previous fiscal cycles:

  • MADANI Framework Pillars: The budget is built around three core pillars: raising the national growth ceiling, elevating the living standards floor, and accelerating governance reforms across public administration.
  • 10 Priority Areas: Strategic focus points include narrowing regional economic gaps, managing cost-of-living challenges via targeted aid programs like Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and BUDI MADANI, strengthening social safety nets for gig economy workers, and addressing challenges associated with an aging population by 2030.
  • Economic & Sectoral Goals: Focus will also center on basic education and healthcare infrastructure, public sector transformation through Government Technology (GovTech), dignified wages, empowering local businesses under the ‘Made by Malaysia’ banner, and fostering high-value investments in semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI).
  • Parliamentary Schedule: Debate at the policy stage for the Supply (Budget) Bill 2027 will run for eight days beginning next week. Ministerial winding-up speeches are set for October 26 to 29, followed by committee-stage debates from November 2 to 26 prior to the final vote in the Dewan Rakyat.

Taking to social media platform X on Thursday, Anwar expressed confidence that Budget 2027 will ease daily financial pressures, expand economic opportunities, and deliver balanced development benefits across all societal segments.
