PUTRAJAYA, Aug 24 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will deliver the 2026 National Day ‘Amanat Perdana’ on Aug 30 at Dataran Merdeka to convey the MADANI Government leadership’s aspirations on the importance of embracing the spirit of independence and fostering patriotism among Malaysians.

Organised by the National Unity Ministry, the event will feature various activities starting as early as 5:00 pm, including the Merdeka Eve Animation Concert, World Festival of Lights, Gema Perpaduan Malaysia MADANI cultural performance, a special Independence Musical segment, and performances by leading local artistes.

National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang stated that the well-being the country aspires to achieve cannot be realized without strong unity across society.

“In a Malaysia rich in religious, cultural and linguistic diversity, as well as diverse customs and traditions, we must continue to cultivate an attitude of understanding, respect, acceptance and celebration,” Aaron said in a statement today.

“Let us continue to foster the spirit of mutual understanding, respect and acceptance of diversity, because it is through togetherness that Malaysia draws its strength to continue progressing in harmony and prosperity,” he added.

Serving as the secretariat for the event, the National Unity Ministry invited members of the public to attend the gathering at Dataran Merdeka. Anwar’s address will also be broadcast live nationwide on TV1 and the RTMKlik application starting at 9:30 pm.

Themed ‘Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati’, the main 69th National Day celebration will take place at Dataran Putrajaya, with more than 80,000 visitors expected to attend.
