KANGAR, Oct 4 – Perlis police have confirmed receiving a second police report against a male motivational speaker involving allegations of sexual harassment.
Perlis Police Chief DCP Hamzah Hashim stated that the latest report was lodged on Saturday, October 3, 2026, by a 19-year-old female complainant.
“The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act,” Hamzah said in an official statement on Sunday, October 4.
Ongoing Custody and Planned Re-Arrest
The motivational speaker is currently completing a two-day remand order ending today, which was initially granted to assist investigations into a separate police report filed in Padang Besar regarding alleged sexual harassment.
Key details regarding the upcoming legal procedures include:
- Release and Re-Arrest Protocol: Upon completion of his initial remand period, the suspect will be formally released on police bail for the Padang Besar case before being immediately re-arrested by Kangar police to facilitate investigations into the second complaint.
- New Remand Application: Police will submit a fresh remand application at the Kangar Magistrates’ Court on Monday, October 5, to secure further detention for questioning.
The case follows widespread public attention after social media posts alleged inappropriate conduct by the individual, prompting preliminary interventions and investigations by authorities across multiple police districts in the state.
